What was the civil rights movement?
The Civil Rights Movement was a worldwide political movement for equality. There were major campaigns and non violent protests. It was between the years 1954 to 1965. The civil rights movement centered on the American South, this was where the African American population was concentrated and where racial inequality in education, economic opportunity, and legal processes was the most clear.
